Bio

A native to Colorado Springs, Aidan Gould is a versatile jazz bassist and composer who currently resides in New York City. He is a two time Downbeat Award winner, recent graduate from the world renowned University of North Texas jazz program, and current masters student in the New York University jazz program. Shaped by a range of jazz genres, such as traditional swing, funk, and contemporary fusion, Aidan infuses his performances with dynamic energy and his passion for exploring musical styles blends with his dedication to innovating within the jazz tradition. This has come to captivate his signature sound of musical communication with bandmates, intricate bass lines, and soulful melodies. Under the esteemed mentorship of luminaries such as Lynn Seaton, Rich DeRosa, Philip Dizack, and Ed Soph, Aidan has refined his abilities, developing a deeper understanding of the complexities within jazz. Throughout his career he has shared the stage with world renowned artists such as Quincy Davis, Scott Tixer, Ricky Sweum, Marvin Stamm, Brad Leali, Christos Rafalides, and Claus Raible. Committed to musical excellence and pushing artistic boundaries within the jazz tradition, he captivates audiences with expressive playing and an innovative approach to the bass.
