Bio

A native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Aidan Gould is a bassist, composer, and educator based in New York City. A two-time DownBeat Award winner, he is a graduate of the University of North Texas jazz program and currently pursuing a master's degree in Jazz Studies at New York University. 

Recognized for his lyrical sound, strong ensemble interaction, and versatility across a variety of musical settings, Gould has established himself as an in-demand performer among the next generation of jazz musicians. His approach to the bass is rooted in the jazz tradition while drawing inspiration from a broad spectrum of contemporary influences. 

Aidan has studied with acclaimed artists including Lynn Seaton, Chris Potter, Dezron Douglas, Rich DeRosa, Philip Dizack, Ed Soph, and Dave Pietro. Additionally, he has performed at distinguished New York venues such as Dizzy’s Club and Smalls Jazz Club. He has also shared the stage with notable musicians including former jazz messenger Philip Harper, Quincy Davis, Scott Tixier, Ricky Sweum, Marvin Stamm, Brad Leali, Christos Rafalides, and Claus Raible. 

Committed to musical excellence and pushing artistic boundaries within the jazz tradition, Aidan captivates audiences with expressive playing and an innovative approach to the bass.
